The Monrovia Mountains Conservancy (MMC) was founded in 1999 in Monrovia, California to preserve the natural foothills of our community.
Monrovia Mountains Conservancy Mission Statement
The Monrovia Mountains Conservancy is a non-profit organization with an interest in the preservation of the foothills of Monrovia. The Conservancy seeks to preserve the land and/or buildings for historic, educational, ecological, recreational, scenic, wildlife corridor or open-space opportunities.
We are community-based non-profit (501(c)3) organization run entirely by volunteers. The conservancy serves the community through:
- Educational outreach (K-12)
- Community outreach
- Sponsorship of talks and seminars
- Representation on the City of Monrovia Wilderness Preservation Committee
- Representation on the city’s Trails Committee
- Publication of a newsletter for members
- Contacts with outside grantors and similar organizations
